2012?

Its said the world will come to an end in the year 2012 do you believe it?

According to the movie "2012" which came out in 2009, they say that the world will end on December 21st 2012 since that is the last date on the Mayan calender. In the movie it started out with having many natural disasters all over the world and then eventually in 2012 the world came to an end. At first I didn't believe the whole story behind 2012 because it freaked me out and I didn't want to believe it. However now I'm starting to think that this could be true since over the past years there has been many natural disasters occurring for example- Hurricane Katrina and many tsunamis and mudslides. Recently there were horrible earthquakes in Haiti as well as Chile and Japan which happened just a few days ago. According to the Richter scale the Earthquakes were between 7 and 9 which means they were very affective.

According to the movie 2012 and the information they show in the movie I'm starting to believe that it's possible the world can come to an end very soon. The earth only has a limited amount of days and if people don't step up and correct there mistakes, and try to help the earth out the world can come to an end even sooner then we think. By people throwing their trash and littering all over the place this is affecting the ozone layer. People also are selfish and cant save electricity. When you walk out of a room you should shut the light, during the summer instead of having the air conditioner on all the time go take a walk outside and enjoy the fresh air. Its by doing the little things like that, that can help us save the Earth.

below is a link to the trailer of the movie "2012".

  1. I completely agree with you. People need to wake up and realize what they are doing to this planet. Soon there won't even be one. If people could just stop being so selfish and lazy, then we would have a better chance of fighting things like global warming and many other devastating things that we could all prevent. Earth is our home. We need to all come together as a whole to save it, before it is too late.

  2. I do agree with you that the fact people need to wakeup with what they're doing, but global warming is not only caused by humans. It is a natural cycle of the Earth, which I've been told by many teachers, family members, and even research. We can provide help to not make the cycle worse, but there's no way we're going to stop it. As for the world ending in 2012, I think it's a bunch of publisized over-stated nonsense.

  3. I refuse to believe that anyone or anything can prove when the world ends. Nobody knows when the world is going to end. It's kind of surprising how the last day has become such a controversial issue. If everyone is so worried about when the world is going to end because they feel they haven't done enough then here's a thought, live each day as if it's your last. Nobody really knows when the world is going to end. It could be 2012, or 2045 or for all we know a few days later. We should just live each day as if it is our last and hope for the best.

  4. I believe the world will eventually restart. I don't think it will end. When the world comes to an end for us, it will restart it's self for new species to grow. Just like we evolved from other creatures. It makes me think..... maybe we were one of those restarts. Maybe the past people failed to take care of the planet so it restarted. They say history repeats it's self right. Maybe we are failing to take care of it so we are getting what we deserve. A restart.

  5. Ah... 2012. I mean it's either something you believe or something you just dismiss right away, it's one of those things. As for me, I mean yes there's horrible natural disasters going on as recent as 2 weeks ago and while it's unfortunate, it just doesn't convince me that the world is ''ending'' in 2012. It reminds me of the ''Y2K'' scare, if anyone remembers in 1999. That when it became 2000, all the computers would ''explode'' or something like that. Computers wouldn't recognize ''00'' and would forever be useless. The news made a gigantic thing of this. And once it became 2000 and NOTHING happened, No one has even mentioned ''Y2K'' unless it featured a punchline at the end of the sentence. That's all 2012 is to me, A little scare that doesn't change anything once it actually arrives.
